Health card
The individual health card proves the right to care in the public system. In Catalonia, CatSalut issues it; elsewhere, the regional health service does. It is not requested on the immigration appointment.

Who it is for
Someone who will live in Spain and needs public healthcare. Registration usually asks for local registration and, depending on the case, insured or beneficiary status with Social Security.

Register locally and have a NIE or passport

In Barcelona the body is CatSalut. In Madrid and València, the province links. In another province, the regional health service.
